Big Timber Creek tumbles over a series of falls and cascades in the Crazy Mountains north of Big Timber and Livingston. Spring runoff from a heavy winter snowpack brings the falls to life each June. This photograph has great detail and is an excellent image at larger sizes. |

Thunderstorms spawned along the Rocky Mountain Front roll over the prairies of Montana often creating spectacular lightning displays. This ground strike was captured northwest of Choteau, Montana near Teton Butte. I sat patiently in my pickup with camera mounted on a tripod outside the drivers side door. No way did I want to stand outside so tripped the shutter with a long cable release. |

Marmots inhabit the alpine areas of Montana. On clear days they frequently spend time basking in the warm sunshine. |

A rare brilliant red and green aurora shimmers amid a starry sky over the Big Sky Country of Montana. This scene was photographed north of Choteau Montana on a cool late fall night in November 2001. Available as a landscape or portrait print at the dimensions shown below. |

Photographed at Makoshika State Park near Glendive, Montana are fascinating and colorful erosional features. A most unusual composition. |

This colorful photograph captures the heart of winter near Marias Pass at the south end of Glacier National Park. The marsh is dominated by brilliant rust colored willows while the mountains stand blanketed in snow against a bright blue sky. In between are the tan of aspens groves and the deep green of coniferous forests. |

Over 200 elk curiously gaze at the photographer not knowing if I represent danger. The single 10 x 14 inch print contains three slightly different photos of this huge elk herd on their late winter range. You can mount the photos individually or have them mounted all in one frame as a triptych. |

Amtrak's Empire Builder, enroute to Chicago, ascends the steep grade at Blacktail along the southern boundary of Glacier National Park. It's fall in the Rocky Mountains. The aspens and larches have turned gold and wisps of fog make for beautiful views from the Sightseerer Lounge. |
