My longtime mountaineering partner Bill Blunk and I had just returned to our high camp after climbing Longknife Peak on the Canadian border. A large thunderstorm moved behind Kinnerly Peak. The late afternoon sun created dramatic lighting and the beautiful rainbow. A perfect piece for living room, den or office. |

St. Mary Falls are a popular hike from Going-to-the Sun Road. These three views capture the beauty of the falls and show why the hike in is well worth the effort. Three views of St. Mary Falls are available. |

Numa Ridge guards the northern side of Bowman Lake in the northwest corner of Glacier National Park. The dense west side forests are dominated by western larch trees. In fall the larch needles turn gold before falling to the ground. These spectacular displays of color are missed by most visitors becauses few come to the park in October. |

Granite Park is an area of outcropping lava flows that was mistaken for granite by early visitors. Glacial erosion has left a barren surface that plants are just beginning to colonize. Dominating the scene above the historic Granite Park Chalet is Mount Gould. I made this photo on an early fall evening as the sun was ready to drop behind Heaven's Peak. The low sun angle provided a wash of rich saturated color to the scene. |

A huge glacier carved a great trench in the mountains which later filled with water to form this 10 mile long lake. Lake McDonald is a favorite tourist destination. In this view the tourists have left for the season. High peaks highlighted by the setting sun form a mighty backdrop to the serene lake. |

Fall is here. The air is crisp and cool. Puffy white clouds dot the blue sky and elk bugle in the meadows. This brilliant scene was captured in the St. Mary Valley along the trail to Gunsight Pass. While the valleys show fall color, Mount Jackson already has the seasons new snow. Winter will be coming soon.
A large print of this scene is perfect for meeting rooms, reception areas and dining rooms.
This sunrise view of Sinopah Mountain is a classic Two Medicine scene. The calm waters of Pray Lake exquisitely reflect the shapes and colors of the magnificent landscape as the sun first touches the summit of Sinopah.
A large print of this scene is perfect for meeting rooms, reception areas and dining rooms.
Chief Mountain is an outlier of the main ranges in Glacier National Park. It's rectangular shape and high elevation make it stand out as a dramatic feature on the plains. The Blackfeet Indians hold this land sacred and religious sites abound in this vicinity. When fall colors the aspens the area around Chief Mountain is so stunning that anyone can understand why it is so significant to the Blackfeet People. |

A scene one had to see to believe. On a rare windless day in June of 2005, St. Mary Lake lay perfectly calm. The mighty backdrop of mountains were reflected in the stillness. Visitors were hushed and moved to tears by the scene that day. |

While fires burned in the valleys, flowers bloomed in the high country. Haze from smoke adds to the mystery of this magnificent showing of fireweed near Logan Pass. Providing a backdrop is Mount Oberlin and Mount Cannon. |

The Belly River flows north from Glacier into Canada. The valley is broad and wide and at the edge of Glacier begins to take on some of the characteristics of a prairie valley. There are large expanses of prairie and beautiful groves of aspens. A great place to hear bugling elk when the leaves are golden in the fall. |

Running Eagle Falls in the Two Medicine region have a little trick to play on visitors depending on how much water is flowing down the valley. Either print (spring or winter) can be ordered in the sizes listed. |

Snowcapped Rainbow Peak stands tall over the colorful larch filled forests reflected in the calm waters of Bowman Lake in the northwest corner of Glacier National Park. |

In fall, golden larch and aspen provide dramatic color to the valley of the Middle Fork of the Flathead River along Glacier's southwest boundary. |

This classic Matterhorn peak rises over 5,000 feet above the Middlefork of the Flathead River in the southwest corner of Glacier National Park. |

Sunrift Gorge is a very narrow defile along Going-to-the-Sun Road in the St. Mary Valley. Sunlight illuminates the gorge only for a short time each day. I was at the right place at the right time to capture this flowing image of the gorge. |
